Biography & Mission
G. Yvonne Mallory
I graduated from State University of New York at Albany with a BS in Speech Pathology and Audiology/Psychology. I later obtained my MS from Penn State University, an MBA from Pepperdine University Malibu, and my PhD in Religious Studies.
I have been a professor of Biblical studies at Long Beach Bible Institute and taught worship classes at two local churches. I am currently involved in the missions ministry at my local church. In collaboration with my Penn State University professor, I published my Master’s thesis. While the Economic Development Director in city government, I published a quarterly newsletter. Also, I designed and published articles for a physician in Los Alamitos, California. One of my articles was featured in the local Veterans Administration Medical Center newsletter. I produced and hosted a weekly radio segment promoting a successful, motivational business program. Tragically, one of my sons passed away from the A.I.D.S. virus several years ago. It was a painful chapter in my life’s journey. My greatest battle was waged in my soul against bitterness and unforgiveness. Only by God’s grace did I survive. I know what it’s like to be angry all of the time. My total physical structure changed. My facial features hardened, and I was in a perpetual state of darkness. I walked with my head down toward the ground, and my shoulders were squeezed together and tight. Emotionally drained, my immune system was weakened, and I became physically ill. My light bulb moment came when I watched a secular movie called Dead Man Walking, a film about love and forgiveness. Then I read the Bible parable of the Unforgiving Servant (Matthew 18:23-25). I identified my enemy; it was unforgiveness. Healing began, and I started teaching education classes on caregiving for those living with A.I.D.S. One of the most important lessons I learned was how to love. I don’t mean the world’s view of love focused on emotions and sex. I am talking about love solidly rooted in original, divine love, with no strings attached. |
