What Will You Do to Have Peace of Mind? - Spiritual Nugget 35
Far too often, negative energy strolls into our minds and sneaks its way into our soul. This negative energy invites itself into our consciousness when we have major changes in our life circumstances, business, or changes in the overall condition of our financial situation. Examples are the loss of a spouse who may be the primary source of income for the family, loss of a single parent who supported three children under the age of twelve, loss of a job or position, or a significant reduction in pay. I’m certain many other situations can cause mental distress. Any or all of these can result in a condition that makes you feel as if you have been strangled by your very life.
Worry is uncontrolled mental harassment that can lead to death, serious illness, or emotional breakdowns. It springs from a monumental concern triggered by the dread of anticipated events, unexpected occurrences, changes in your life, or the life of another.
If you need an object lesson in causes of worry, tune into any station carrying news on your television, radio, computer, or iPhone. Finding something to worry about is probably the only thing for which we are guaranteed not to have to stand in line.
Worry is never nourishment. When a baby does not want to eat its food, he or she spits it out. Likewise, we must commit to spit out the bad taste of worry and seek inward peace. This peace is not false security, and you cannot buy it in commercial markets or online. It is perfect peace and hope found by solidly resting on God and belief in His everlasting love for you. This peace has plans for you that will work for your good. This peace will supply all of your need, whether it is a new job, larger paycheck, new business, groceries to feed you and your family, comfort from a loss, and even a much-valued parking spot.
Unlike human solutions that can easily and quickly disappoint, inward peace rests in the promise that God will not lie nor change His mind about a promise He has made. (Numbers 23:19) It also brings you companions of joy (gladness, calmness, pleasure, and hope). (Galatians 5:22-23)
I do not want to leave you with the impression that there will be no more days of darkness. You may have to wait a time for His plans to progress. During your anxiety, you may be tempted to try and create your own solution. If you think you can solve your own situation, then there is no need to have faith in God. He will not interfere with your plans and you may end up going in the wrong direction. He will wait until you are ready to trust that He has the best solution to your current circumstances.
Never forget! His plans are so much higher than ours.
Peace and joy are your anchors to hold you steadfast in faith until triumph over the adverse and trying circumstance(s) is visible. Let strength define your attitude, and victory will be your outcome. (Nehemiah 8:10)
You are going to love the results!
